Math Genius?

I’m an English major, shocking I know, with all these run-on sentences and extra commas bouncing around. I know the grammar rules, I just choose not to follow them. The main reason I am an English major is because it required the least amount of math. I’m only partly kidding. Math is not my subject, so imagine my surprise when Jack Jack started spouting off numbers that caused me to go get my calculator and check his figures. Jackson goes to bed at 7:30 on school nights. He always asks me what time it is to see how many minutes he has left. Then he announces how many minutes ’til bedtime. I didn’t pay much attention, but this week I’ve noticed, he is always right! I tell him it’s 6:43, he says, “47 minutes ’til bedtime!” I tell him it’s 7:18, he says, “12 minutes ’til bedtime!” He barely pauses before he blurts out this amazing stuff. He’s been doing great with kindergarten math, but this isn’t kindergarten math, is it? I swear, I think he’s a genius. Is it bad that my 5 year old has surpassed my math skills? Don’t even get me started on my 4th grader! He left me in the dust years ago.

Lazy Sunday Morning

This is usually the first thing I see when I come downstairs on Sunday mornings. I realize I just admitted that I’m the only lazy one that sleeps late on the weekends around here. I’m not ashamed. These freaks get up around 7.
Fergie doesn’t want to miss a minute of it.

That Time Again

Baseball practices are in full swing, and Christian is loving it. He’s had scrimmage games last night and this afternoon and did fantastic. He got a home run during both games, pitched great, played catcher and 1st base flawlessly, and ran the bases like a pro. He seemed more sure of himself than he usually does, and announced at lunch today that he wasn’t shy anymore. HALLELUJAH! I don’t know if we’ll win a game this year, but for this statement alone, I’m going to declare us the champs.
Jackson had practice this afternoon, too.
Nothing pro or flawless about it, but in his mind, and ours, he was a champ before he ever started.

In Honor of Nothing

I don’t have anything to post tonight, but I do have plenty of pictures from February that never made the blog… pictures of our few days in Destin, a bowling birthday party, Fergie taking a load off, you know, the important stuff. Enjoy!

Momma’s Boy

Jackson draws at least one picture of me every day at school. Today there were two. It’s J week, so I’m juggling in this one, and no, he didn’t intentionally draw me flipping the bird. That was just a happy accident. When I commented on all the pretty drawings of me, Jackson said, “Yeah, well, I drew one of Daddy, too but… well… he was with you.”
