When it Rains at the Beach

After a week and a half of going hard, today was a day of recovery. Luckily, it rained and kept us indoors all day. We used this time wisely. There were naps, movies, spaghetti dinners, television, laundry, more naps, and an awesome fort. We are now officially ready for another day at the beach. I hope the weather cooperates.

Every once in awhile I decide that I must learn to use my flash. I play for a few days, realize I suck, and forget about it for a few months. This is one of those times. Each boy gave me about 37 seconds before I realized, I have no idea what I’m doing. Oh, and I don’t know what the deal is in the next picture, but yeah, this so happened!

Flash Torture

Every once in awhile I remember that I have a flash, and I barely know how to use it. Before the thought fades, I run go get the stupid thing and find someone to practice on/torture, no matter what they are doing. Jackson is annoyed, but willing to pacify me if only for a moment. That’s a fake smile, one of his better ones, but fake nonetheless. I’ll take it!

This is just a random picture I took accidentally during the game, but I decided to use it anyway. Jack Jack, Paw Paw and I watched the Saints beat the Cardinals yesterday, which was AWESOME. It was the first time in awhile that we’ve been proud to sport a Bush jersey. He’s back and he’s bad!

Just a Little More Christmas

I knew these pictures were somewhere around here. Christian’s big gift from Santa this year was an electric guitar. He started lessons last week and so far so good. I don’t know if he is honestly excited about learning to play the guitar, or just thinks guitars are cool and having one means he’s cool, too. He learned 3 notes at his lesson and practiced them throughout the week, so we’ll see how it goes. I forget what Jackson’s big gift from Santa was, probably because he showed the most excitement over getting a few more Bakugans. Mind you, he doesn’t play the game that you can play with these stupid little things. It’s just a collection he has going. Whoever has the most wins, or something like that. Jackson is winning.Santa brought the dogs a few toys and bones for Christmas, too. Lulu got this duck which Santa was pretty stupid for getting her anyway knowing it would be torn up in a matter of minutes. I imagine he just couldn’t resist the vision of her as a duck dog. Turns out Christian and Jackson aren’t the only two around here that fight over toys. This struggle lasted most of the morning.Look who finally won. I hated to tell her the only reason was probably because Lulu was off chewing on her bone somewhere. Bitches, I swear!

DSi Heaven

I think the only way for me to get through Christmas pictures is a few at a time, so it looks like I’ll be posting snapshots from Christmas all through January. The fun never ends. These are my lame attempts with flash, and I totally suck at it. The good part is that you can actually see what’s going on. We got the boys each a DSi for Christmas. It’s difficult to buy for them because honestly, the most played with toy at our house is a football, and really, how many footballs do these two need? I don’t know about anyone else, but I love DSi’s. They come in handy in the car, waiting in the doctor’s office, when they are stuck inside because of weather, or at some function with a bunch of adults and nothing to do. Jackson has a little trouble navigating some of the games, but he still loves it if for no other reason than his big brother has one. I know I should be all anti-video game, but I’m just not. Feel free to judge. When they start choosing to play games for hours instead of play outside I’ll worry, but for now, that isn’t an issue. Besides, if it wasn’t for Pac-Man, Donkey Kong and Mario Brothers, my childhood wouldn’t have been the same. Everybody needs to save a princess every once in awhile.P.S. They also got some cool new red slippers. You should have seen the joy on their faces!

Christian Ran Away to Live with the Gypsies

Yeah, not really. Last week Christian had a lot going on with baseball, parties, and more baseball, this week we seem to be doing more running around with Jackson. Tomorrow night is the preschool’s annual circus and Jack-Jack has been practicing the last couple of mornings at the O’Keeffe Center. He’s going to be a cowboy. Did the hat give it away?

Today, his best friends, Charlie & David came over to play after practice. I don’t know what he’s going to do next year when they have to go to different schools. We may just have to move to Vancleave!

I can’t wait to see the cowboys in action tomorrow! I’m sure I’ll get a few pictures… ya think??

And because we are glad he didn’t run off with the gypsies, and we love seeing his sweet face, here is one of Christian from last week that I didn’t post. Ahhh, I feel much better now.

Grumpus Among Us

I made the mistake of doing away with nap-time back when Jackson started school. Most of the time that works out okay for me, but some days, I can see my error in judgement. We are all a little sleep deprived this week. Unfortunately, this is the only way I can get him near his bed in the afternoon without a full out melt down. If I wasn’t desperately trying to learn this stupid flash of mine, he might have just drifted off while I took pictures of his feet. Yeah, I kinda doubt it, too.
