I know I’ve been scarce around here, and I’m sorry. I really have been in the spirit, I promise, I have. I finally took my wreaths over to Mom’s and got her to help me jazz them up. Her house is way better than going to Michael’s, besides, no one at Michael’s has ever helped me decorate a wreath!
We are done with school, those Christmas cards have been sent out, and I’m almost positive that I’m done with my shopping, so surely, it’s about to slow down, isn’t it? At least those wreaths are done! Thank you Momma.

The Level of Excitement

Jackson has told me 10 times that this Santa, which is NOT the real Santa, called him “Big Guy.” I’m not sure if the look on my Jack Smack’s face is a response to the big guy comment, or the fact that he was certain that this Santa was an imposter. Either way, my baby didn’t look all that jazzed about this encounter.

It’s About Time

I’m normally not this far behind. Okay, who am I kidding? I’m usually this far behind. Normally, I’d be freaking out right about now, but this year, we are just going to let it go. The Christmas village hasn’t been put out, Christmas card pictures haven’t been taken, and I haven’t made a single baked good to send to school. And honestly, no one has even noticed. They seem to be enjoying themselves regardless. So far, the highlight was when after getting the entire Christmas tree decorated, about 2/3rds of the lights went out. We got most of them back on, and I decided that it was good enough. The next day we were decorating the little tree in the dining room, and half the lights went out. I just walked away. It is still half lit, and half decorated. Again, no one even noticed. I’m sort of digging these laid back holidays.

We have Thanksgiving dinner at our house every year. Mom wanted pictures afterward and we all gave in. For some reason, I never take pictures during holidays, so I stole her memory card.I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. We sure did.

Tonight, we’ve been sitting around like it isn’t Halloween or something! Here are a few more pictures from when we were celebrating. Some of the kids came over a little early, so I had to get a group pic. Also, another one more of my football player and Commander Fox peeking an eye out at me.While we were all waiting on trick or treat time, a werewolf rode up. ADORABLE!Then, he stopped and waved. Even more adorable.Nothing could compare to this cuteness. She has the sassy witch pose down perfectly!Last, but certainly not least, Ian, Orion and James were here, all suited up and ready. It just isn’t a party until Sponge Bob shows up!

It has been such a busy, crazy week and weekend, and we are all exhausted. But, I just had to share one picture from our neighborhood Halloween Bash. I love how Jackson’s Commander Fox helmet is askew and he thinks I can’t see his eyes, so he doesn’t bother looking at me. I also love that Christian’s costume consists of something he’d wear to school on a regular day and a little eye-black. I promise one of these days I’ll share the rest of the fair pictures, and maybe a few more Halloween snaps, maybe…

Gettin’ Crafty

I wanted some cute wreaths for Halloween, but as usual I didn’t know where to start. I finally found something online that I wanted, and I called my Momma. She’s the one that tells me whether or not we can do it, and she’s the one that shows me what to do. My biggest contribution is picking out stuff at the store, and painting plaques. And while mine don’t look much like the originals, they have the same feeling. I love how they turned out. I think after Halloween, I’m going to take out the skeletons and ghosts, replace them with some turkeys and scarecrows, and keep it out another month! I better get started on the Thanksgiving plaque!

Happy 4th of July

Not too many pictures today. We had a cookout and spent the day hanging out with family and swimming. It was a good day. Usually we have so many fireworks for the 4th and spend the whole night blowing things up, but not this year. It hasn’t rained at my house, I mean really rained, in at least a month… maybe longer. I think if we were to set off fireworks all of Ocean Springs would go up in smoke. Since we sort of like where we live, we decided to forgo our 4th of July fireworks bonanza and opt for a more low-key lazy pool day. We did have a little excitement. Jackson lost his third tooth tonight. He’s getting used to seeing himself as a snaggle-tooth, so it wasn’t quite as big of a shock as the first one. Hope everyone had a happy and safe 4th of July!
