Joey, Katie and Josie were in town, which truly, I love you Joey and Katie, I really do, and I’m so happy to see you, now give me your kid! Taking pictures of Josie is fun, but it ain’t for the lazy. Don’t expect her to look directly at you, and don’t EVER expect her to stop moving. You move with her, or you miss it. That’s the beauty of a one year old. She’s just so gorgeous and sweet, that it’s worth it.I mean, really, is it possible to be any cuter? I think not! Then we busted out some wings and a tutu, and oh my goodness all cuteness hell broke loose!Not that it mattered what she wore, I was just sayin’.Josie, I’ll work for you anytime!

Working Her Magic

I had the cutest little subject to photograph this weekend, my niece Josie. I have to say, 10 months is a hard age for me to capture. She is mobile and she just doesn’t have time to look at me, not that I can blame her. She’s a busy girl. I finally figured out how to contain her… put her in the trunk! Jackson didn’t want to be left out of that situation.She really is gorgeous, isn’t she? It doesn’t even matter that she’s so fast that she’s not quite in focus.Jackson would sit in for me occasionally.After Josie left, both my boys informed me that they wanted a baby. This little girl can really work some magic.

Josie had a big day today. Her parents had their marriage blessed at our church. She was a little distracted while that business was taking place and missed most of it.Then it was her turn to be the center of attention. She made it through like a champ. There were proud Godparents…And lots of Grandparents and family to celebrate their special day. After tons of food, cake and attention, she could take it no more and fell fast asleep. The End. Congratulations Miss Josie!

Oh Baby

Today, instead of getting ready for Thanksgiving, I played with Josie all day. It was so much more fun than cooking. Is she gorgeous or what?I don’t know that I’ve ever seen Jackson this close to a baby and smiling or even just this close to a baby period. Honestly, he usually hides when there is a wee one on the premises. He’s never liked babies and certainly didn’t want us having any. I have now been bombarded with tons of requests for a new brother or sister, and most of them have come from the anti-baby kid himself. Josie’s powers know no limits. I’m sure she will only use them for good.

State of Emergency

We rode around this afternoon to see how much disarray this hurricane turned tropical storm Ida was causing. The water was a little high, and there was some rain, but so far so good.The real state of emergency is how adorable my niece is.Thank you Donna for the sweet picture of Miss Josie.

Finally, A Girl

While I can’t claim this adorable picture (my sister took it), that won’t stop me from showing it off. It’s not often I get to post something so sweet, pink, and girly! I haven’t seen Josie in awhile, and I can’t believe how much she has changed. No more newborn, moving right on into babyhood. Isn’t she the cutest thing ev-AH?? I’m hoping to see her in real life in a couple weeks.

I posted my favorites yesterday, but I forgot this one. I couldn’t explain what I wanted them to do for me, but luckily my Mom understands my incoherent ramblings and she took over here. I’m glad she did, because I love it. Josie is just so perfect! Okay, I’ll post all the black and whites first because they are all moody and dark, and I’ll end with some color so I can try to put you back in a good mood.Nothing like Momma holding her sleeping baby, and sleep she did!You can see how small she is with Joey holding her. I know it’s all dark and shadowy, but I love it anyway.Ryleigh was done taking pictures at this point, but she wasn’t over getting some lovin’! Okay, on to some color.Josie looks like Joey here, minus the tongue, crossed-eyes and ducky jumper. Joey loves me right now.Every time I look at a picture of Ryleigh I have to share with someone how pretty she is. If you have seen or talked to me in the last two days, I’ve either told you about it or showed you. See what I mean?? I just can’t get over those eyes and how expressive she is. Our families sure do make gorgeous babies. I’ll try to quit bragging about that soon.

We went to Hattiesburg today to visit Joey, Katie and Josie and took a few newborn pictures. This is my first time taking pictures of a little one this age with anything but a point and shoot. I’ve only had a chance to edit a few, and I can’t wait to do more. She was so sweet, squishy and sleepy… all the things I had hoped she would be. I think we have the perfect model on our hands.I even got to try THE pose. I don’t know how the real photogs do it without three sets of hands to help! It only took us a few tries, but she finally got settled and worked her adorable little baby thing she has going. Isn’t she the most perfect thing ever? If they lived closer, I’d be over there every day holding her and taking pictures. After we were done harassing Josie, we got Katie’s neice to come over for a bit to get a few pictures of her. I could have taken pictures of Ryleigh all day, too. She is just gorgeous. Thanks guys for letting me photograph your babies. I’ll have more soon.

So I’ve Been Editing…

Josie’s birthday today and I’m getting close to being finished, sort of. I came across a few of Mom & Donna that I had to share. I swear, Donna has had this look on her face since the moment Josie was born. Hell, maybe even since they told her they were having a baby, I’m not sure, but this picture almost captures all the emotions she had that day, and for that, I love it.Donna, still with the look, but she gets it honest. Check out the new GREAT grandmother, yes I said GREAT!! She’s not happy or anything. I love that I can see Katie back there while she is texting all of her friends to tell them the news. Last, but certainly not least, the star of that day, Miss Josie. I can’t wait to see her next week to see how much she has changed.
