Our girl turned 5 today, or I guess she’s 35 in dog years or something like that. Let me tell you how hard it is to get a picture of Lulu. She doesn’t like my camera one little bit. If it’s in my face, she won’t look my way. Seriously, she’ll do anything to avoid it!See what I mean? That’s okay. We still love our birthday girl.

Lulu isn’t the only one that can’t get close enough to the warmth of a fire. Sometimes I wonder if Lulu is just gonna nudge Fergie’s fluffy butt on into the flames just to see what will happen, but so far they’ve been content to share the warmth in complete harmony.

A Boy and His Dog

I took pictures of the boys playing football today, 78 pictures to be exact. In all those shots of running, catching and falling, I found this picture… a picture that truly captures how much this boy loves his dog. This is why I love taking pictures. I sure love the dog and the boy, too!

One of our smoke alarms started chirping yesterday. Lulu hates her some chirping smoke alarms. She literally loses her mind. She was so scared she hopped up in my lap as close as she could get and snuggled in. Scott had to get a picture.

One of the many things I love about South Mississippi is our crazy weather. We had a freeze warning last night, a fire this morning for Lulu, and temps in the 60′s this afternoon. I have flowers blooming outside like it’s Spring. You know it’s bad when your weather confuses the plants.

Christian is quite the fishing instructor. He helped his cousins with their bait while Jackson sat on his butt. Jackson likes to watch more than fish. Paw Paw and Lulu hooked Ian up. They are pretty good fishing instructors, too.

It just goes to show you, sisterhood is a pretty powerful thing. On that note, I want to wish my big sister, which I don’t have access to a picture of at the moment, a very happy birthday! Work It

Lulu does NOT like to be photographed. She will avoid even looking my way if I have a camera in my hands. It doesn’t stop me. She’s so pretty, and her “poses” only make her look more regal. I was more than a little surprised when I went through some pictures of her today to find this next one. Wait, is it eye contact? It’s almost as if she really is posing for me. Okay, neck high, chin up, now look over this way at me. Tilt your head just a bit. Now, act like you have a secret. I see doggy boudoir photography in my future. Okay, not really, but it did look like this was on purpose, and not just a lucky shot before she rolled over to scratch something.

After 4 days stuck in the house sick, Jack Jack is making his way back into the world. He went back to school Monday and has only had to go to the nurse once. Looks like he may make it.
