Have I mentioned how nice my boys looked the other night? Emily and Anna looked beautiful, too!The ring bearer and the flower girl, is there anything more adorable?Jackson didn’t crack much of a smile down the aisle, and Emmy was so careful with her one petal at a time routine. They both did fantastic.And, now, for a little trip down memory lane. This handsome man was a ring bearer for his aunt when he was seven, too. Look how small he is…Come to think of it, we were all a bit smaller in those days! My boys really do clean up nice!

I Was There, Too

While we were taking pictures at the beach with friends, they got a few snaps of us, too. Zac Jones took this picture of me taking pictures of the kids. This is probably more me than any other picture in the world. Thank you Zac. I love it! Kelli managed to get one of all four of us, which never happens. Don’t be jealous of my frizzy hair. Thank you Kelli for capturing one out of only a handful of pictures I have of all four of us. Remind me to do that again sometimes.

Happy Early Father’s Day!

We took Daddy to breakfast this morning for an early Father’s Day celebration. I know it was for him, but I love me some Bayview breakfast! The only bad part was having to drag the boys out of bed at a reasonable hour. Notice Christian is texting mid-picture, but that is a post for another time. The boys filled out a questionnaire about Paw Paw that I wish I would have copied. They had to guess his height and weight, and tell all kinds of things about him. It was really cute. Jackson almost nailed his height and weight, but Christian was a little off. Not to worry, Christian had Paw Paw’s favorite thing dead on… making Maw Maw happy. How awesome is that?Scott took all the pictures, so I had to snap one of him. Now you know where Christian gets his texting abilities. Only kidding. It probably took Scott 10 minutes to send a 5 word text. He has gotten much better. It would help if he’d get a cell phone that wasn’t from the 90′s!Happy Father’s Day Daddy. I’m sure I’ll see you on Sunday, but we had fun celebrating early, too!

Loser Like Me

We went with some friends (Hey Bud & Sara!) to the Jolly McCarty Foundation silent auction, where unfortunately we did not win anything. But, if losing means an endless glass of wine, hanging with good friends, and meeting Chris Ivory from the Saints, then I’ll happily be a loser anytime!

5 Things I Love About Being a Mom

1. These kids are funny. Seriously, they make me laugh every day, and even if you know nothing about me, you have to know that I dearly love to laugh. Especially at inappropriate stuff.

2. I was born to be a baseball and football Mom of boys. Give me cleats, orange dirt, football pads and lawn chairs any day over toe shoes and tutus.

3. It’s not always about me anymore. Watching my kids open presents is way more exciting than getting any. Watching fireworks suddenly became less interesting than watching my kids mesmerized by fireworks. Most of the time, it being about them is pretty awesome.

4. Seeing a smaller version of your husband makes you love him even more, and makes you feel pretty lucky that you ended up with such a great person to reproduce.

5. And last, but not least, having kids, not only gives you a new appreciation for your parents and how they feel about your children and all they do with them, but it really brings home all the things they did and felt when you were a kid. Now I know how much my Mom loves me, and I can only imagine how much she must love my kids. There are way more than 5 reasons, but those are all really good ones! Hope you had a happy Mother’s Day!

Officially a Bass Fishing Family

We’ve spent a lot of time fishing during our first weekend of Spring Break. Normally we fish for bream, but our friends told us that there was a new bait shop across the street that carries shiners, and they were the trick for bass. Boy, were they right, thanks guys! We’ve all given it a shot.Scott even let me assist in catching this big one, although if we are honest, he hooked it, and I just reeled it in. Jackson requested that I catch him some minnows, which I never did, while he held my camera. He snapped away. It’s weird being on the other side of my camera, especially make-up free straight out of the pool, not to mention the six year old photographer.Last, but certainly not least, Christian caught this whopper all by himself. Christian now ties his own hooks, baits them, catches the fish, gets them off the hook and sends them on their merry way, all on his own. If this weekend was a tournament, the trophy would once again go to Christian. He’s a fishin’ fool!

I Didn’t Say I Looked Good

As promised, and really for my Mom alone, I am putting up pictures of me and Jackson. Christian took these, probably to torture me for all the picture taking I inflict upon him. I need to get it out there that I had been walking/running that afternoon, my hair was a disaster, I had little to no make-up on, and was told later that I smelled like I had been out at the pool. God bless husband and children for not pulling punches. I didn’t say I looked good, just that I had pictures.No, my arm was not hacked off but is holding us up behind me, and yes my kids need haircuts horribly. BUT, one day I’ll be so happy to have myself in some pictures with my boys even if my hair does look like I just walked the bridge or attempted to run the neighborhood. So, thank you to my young photographer that I so bravely handed my camera. Maybe we can do it again some time, like when I don’t smell like the pool.

One of our smoke alarms started chirping yesterday. Lulu hates her some chirping smoke alarms. She literally loses her mind. She was so scared she hopped up in my lap as close as she could get and snuggled in. Scott had to get a picture.
