Goofballs on Ice

We were in Destin this weekend, and they had the skating rink open. Between Scott’s leg and my back, Christian couldn’t convince anyone to join him. Lindsay saved the day. It was her first time, and Christian’s second. They eased around the rink a few times holding on to the rail getting acquainted, and reacquainted, with the ice.Before long, they were zooming, and spinning all over the place!Two and a half hours later, we were able to drag them off the ice. I think we’ll be going back soon! Lindsay, I hope you are home and ready!

I Was There, Too

While we were taking pictures at the beach with friends, they got a few snaps of us, too. Zac Jones took this picture of me taking pictures of the kids. This is probably more me than any other picture in the world. Thank you Zac. I love it! Kelli managed to get one of all four of us, which never happens. Don’t be jealous of my frizzy hair. Thank you Kelli for capturing one out of only a handful of pictures I have of all four of us. Remind me to do that again sometimes.

And then He Almost Lost It

The boys had a blast playing at the beach while our friends were taking pictures, but toward the end they got wet. I don’t know if you know it, but when you get sand and sea water in your shorts and then walk around a few minutes, something starts to happen. Things start rubbing, sand gets in the mix, and agony follows. Jackson didn’t take it so well. Scott had to carry him the whole way back. Now, that is something I should have gotten a picture of!!!

Hacker Clan

Some of our friends we met in Destin were down this week. They are all still there and I’m beyond jealous that I’m missing it. Every year they round everyone up one night and take pictures at the beach. We tagged along. They have their own photogs in the group, but it’s difficult to snap a picture and be in it so I helped with a few group shots. Pretty big group of friends and family, huh?Wait, those two blond-headed ones aren’t part of the Hacker clan!Well, this week they were! We had a blast guys. Can’t wait to see y’all again next year!

So Much Different, So Much the Same

When Christian was a baby, we’d stay here in SanDestin. I can remember him standing at the back glass door looking out at us. That is also his old shirt, so Jackson is just following in his big brother’s footsteps.I remember a few pictures like this, too, although Christian was one, Jackson is seven. I don’t care. It’s still funny every time.

Okay, this is it for the beach pics, I think. I like that it looks like we were on a deserted beach. We weren’t. They happily, for the most part, played together in the surf until it started getting dark, and we headed home. The End. I really know how to drag it out, don’t I? Uh… you’re welcome!

I’ve got lots of those!!!If my boys are anywhere around water, chances are, they have a net in their hands.There’s lots of seaweed, and we aren’t fans, so we haven’t made it back yet. A Little More Destin

Our week down in Destin included no pool time because of Jackson’s ears. No one missed it, except maybe me. The boys found plenty of things to occupy their time… mostly fishing. Ever since Jackson lost some teeth, most of his pictures look a little something like this.Lulu watched over everything as usual.Christian was catching a fish every time we turned around.There were many lazy mornings watching TV,and snuggling with Daddy.We visited almost every park on property.Really, who needs a pool???

As I’ve been sitting here patiently waiting on rain that will never come, I’m looking at pictures of the weather we had almost daily while in Destin. It’s like weather porn. Is there such a thing? My grass would say yes!Our scrimmage game got rained out tonight. Funny, not a drop at my house. Seriously, not one single drop! Just thought I’d share a little random.I also was checking out this fantastic picture (that I did not take) of my little sister, little brother, and Step-Mom. Not sure where they are, or what they are doing, but don’t they all look pretty? Wondering if those smiles have anything to do with rain… probably not.

And We are Back

Here’s a little free advice for ya! Don’t go to the beach for a week and leave your card reader at home so you can’t even look at your pictures, much less edit and post them the entire trip! Well, now ya know. This was our first trip that we didn’t spend every day in the pool. Jackson was diagnosed with swimmer’s ear right before we left and told to take 10 days off from the water. We tried, we really did, but 5 days in, we had to get in the pool. He didn’t go under, so it was fine. On our second to last day, I could take it no longer and we headed to Grayton Beach. He never went under, but I think it’s possible that he got a little water in that ear. We should have considered ear-plugs, but live and learn. I think he’s going to make it!Check out Jackson’s new pose for the camera. Notice Christian just tries to be invisible. No sudden movements and maybe Mom will stop. No such luck kid!Always sad to leave, but ever so good to be home.
