Earlier today, Jackson asked me who Ollie’s Mom and Dad were. I explained how we got Ollie at a store, and never met his parents, so I guessed that Scott and I were his Mom and Dad. That seemed like a perfectly fine explanation for him.
Later, this afternoon, we decided to give Ollie a bath. Jackson loves to help bathe the dogs, so of course he was right there to lend a hand. After we washed him, and toweled him off, he briefly got away into the back yard. We caught him and brought him back to get under the blow dryer. While I dried, Jackson was brushing and asking lots of questions.
Jackson: Mom, why does Ollie have brown hair?
Me: Well, probably because his Momma or Daddy had it.
Jackson: Oh, you mean back when y’all were dogs?
Me: Ummmm, yeah!
That is so cute. He reasons things out and consequently comes up with the cutest and most reasonable, to him, explanation.
That is HILARIOUS!
